UI/UX Designer (Match-3 game)

We are developing a mobile Match-3 game with a meta-game layer. The project includes:

  • Core Gameplay: Match-3 levels.
  • Meta Layer: Farming, development, and decorations.
  • Interaction: Engaging with characters and animals.
  • UI System: Screens, shops, offers, and events.
  • Visuals: Light animations (Spine) and minimalist VFX.

Product Style:

  • Bright, clean, and intuitive.
  • Targeted at a mass-market audience.
  • Mid-core casual quality level.
  • Primary focus: Usability, readability, and logic.

About the Role:

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer who will be responsible for:

  • How the game functions and how the player perceives it.
  • The structure, logic, and usability of all game screens.
  • The seamless connection between gameplay and interface.

Key Responsibilities

  • UX Strategy: Creating user flows, screen transition logic, and defining the overall game structure.
  • Layout & Design: Designing screen layouts, establishing information hierarchy, and optimizing HUD structures.
  • Gameplay Integration: Ensuring tile readability, clear goal visualization, and logical introductions of new mechanics.
  • Interactivity: Designing object interactions and various screen states.

Expected Outcomes

The UI/UX Designer is expected to deliver:

  • An intuitive interface and clear gameplay experience.
  • A frictionless onboarding process for new players.
  • Support for effective monetization through smart design.
  • cohesive UX system across the entire product.

Requirements

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in UI/UX.
  • Game Dev experience is mandatory.
  • Background in mobile / casual / mid-core projects.
  • Experience with shipped products (not just concepts).

Core Skills

  • UX Mindset: Expertise in user flows and wireframing.
  • Gameplay Fluency: A deep understanding of how gameplay translates to UI systems.
  • Gaming Insight: Knowledge of match-3 mechanics, player interaction patterns, and factors influencing retention.

Technical Proficiency

  • Basic understanding of the UI production pipeline.
  • Familiarity with engine integration and working within technical UI systems.

Software & Tools

  • Required: Figma, Miro / FigJam (or similar whiteboarding tools)
  • Preferred: Adobe Photoshop, Unity (basic knowledge), Spine (general understanding)
