The role
Own the performance (GPM and profitability) of a Delivery Unit and lead Stepico’s PMO to raise delivery maturity across all projects. You’ll audit and improve PM practices, build standards and templates, coach PMs (including non-reporting), and enforce disciplined, flow-oriented delivery while directly running a portfolio of client projects.
Indicative time split: 60/40 between portfolio and PMO work, adjusted quarterly.
What you’ll do
Delivery Unit (portfolio ownership)
- Own GPM% and margin for your Delivery Unit; forecast, track and improve financials.
- Lead presales from ~70% confidence: shape delivery strategy, estimates, risks and SoW assumptions; contribute to customer scoring; act as Delivery Representative accountable for delivery assessment and estimations.
- Start up projects; handle client escalations and conflict resolution when required.
- Run portfolio health: RAG (red-amber-green) reviews, risk/issue management, capacity planning, dependency management and change control.
- Coach and performance-manage your PMs; set expectations, review outcomes and drive corrective actions.
- Act as primary escalation point after the PM.
- This is not a billable PM role and does not include architectural decision-making or PM tasking.
PMO leadership (company-wide)
- Audit & governance: run periodic project health audits; ensure policy/checklist/template adoption; assign and track corrective actions.
- Standards & enablement: design practical policies, playbooks, templates and checklists; maintain a central knowledge base and lessons-learned loop.
- Flow excellence: implement and coach PMs in better adoption of Agile methodologies
- Capability growth: mentor PMs of varying seniority; run clinics/CoPs and targeted training.
What you bring
- Proven Delivery Manager experience in international software services/outsourcing: portfolio leadership, client stakeholders, financial ownership and escalations.
- Practical PMO impact: you have built or materially improved standards, audits and reporting cadences that stuck.
- Flow & complexity literacy: strong Kanban and modern flow metrics; ability to tailor delivery style by context (e.g., Cynefin thinking).
- Agile depth: solid Scrum/Kanban at team level; exposure to scaling (SAFe, Nexus, LeSS or Scrum@Scale) is a plus, not a requirement.
- Commercial acumen: margin/GPM management, SoW and change control, risk pricing.
- Clear, confident communication in English; credible with executives and enterprise customers.
Nice-to-have
- Kanban Management Professional (KMP) or equivalent; PSK I welcome.
- Evidence of introducing Scrum/Kanban with measurable outcomes (lead-time reduction, predictability gains, healthier WIP).
Outcomes & KPIs (first 6–12 months)
Targets are calibrated quarterly with the Head of Delivery; these are starting expectations:
Delivery Unit
- GPM%: meet or exceed the quarterly target for the unit; demonstrate quarter-on-quarter improvement vs baseline.
- Predictability: ≥ 85% of commitments met by quarter.
- Escalations: ≤ 0.3 client escalations per project-month; time-to-green after R/A ≤ 2 weeks median.
- Presales quality: estimation error within agreed tolerance; fewer scope/assumption disputes post-kick-off.
PMO (cross-company)
- Audit coverage: 100% of projects quarterly; ≥ 85% pass rate without critical findings.
- Standards adoption: ≥ 90% adoption of mandatory policies/templates; drift corrected within 10 business days.
- Flow uplift: portfolio lead time −20%, throughput +15%, ageing WIP within defined limits.
- Reporting cadence: weekly RAG pack on time with decision-ready actions; data-quality defects trend down.
What will you get with Stepico
- Competitive salaries, regularly reviewed based on professional growth;
- Flexible working hours and remote working;
- 18 working days of paid time off;
- 5 paid sick leaves (without doctors’ notes);
