Position Overview:
The Head of Art (HoA) will serve as a key Stepico Games’ executive team member. This role requires a visionary leader who can nurture creativity and innovation within the art department, maintain cutting-edge industry standards, and ensure our creative advantage over our competitors. The HoA will analyze clients’ problems and requirements and ensure the delivery of high-quality art and animations that solve these problems. The HoA will oversee all technical aspects of the department, its people, and its processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Communication: Serve as the primary liaison for departmental communication within and without the organization:
- Raise issues from the art department to any other Head/Lead or C-level representative.
- Act as a primary contact point for other department heads, leads, or C-level representatives.
- Attend/Hold meetings on behalf of the art department.
- Receive or identify problems that concern or involve the art department and facilitate their resolution.
- Describe and provide artistic expertise to potential clients, partners, or vendors.
- Mediation: Act as an arbiter in disputes and handle issues raised by the art department.
- Hiring and Training: Recruit, onboard, and train line managers or sub-department leads, ensuring a high level of department competency.
- Budget Management: Manage and allocate the department’s budget responsibly.
- Key decision-making: Decide on prioritizing and controlling the enactment of technological development and decisions within the department.
- Department Documentation: Ensure the department has a documentation system that is correctly accessible and intuitive to use. Make sure all the correct levels of access are provided and that the responsible people maintain department and project-level documentation.
- KPIs and Metrics: Participates directly in the company’s strategic planning and translates global goals and vision into departmental KPIs. Presents and explains these KPIs to reporters and ensures the department meets or adjusts them according to the strategy or actual implementation.
